It sort of feels like a subset of people feel that when a trans man is called a woman, it doesn't count as misgendering.
There are a couple of reasons for this. They are all sexist and misogynistic.
And then there's a subset of people who say "well ok it's misgendering, but it's not as bad as when a trans woman gets called a man"

yes it is.
it is exactly as bad to call a trans man a woman as it is to call a trans woman a man.
